As an Aussie, he never was really appreciated here, and in general, I think people do miss him, but since we paid little attention to him when he was alive it seems a bit hypocritical to profess great loss now.
I feel very sad for his family, particularly his son, as he will never have strong memories of his dad like his sister and mum will have.

    I do.
He really did alot to bring animal awareness to the front of everyone's mind.

I'll never forget the episode where Steve and Terri where running through an area that was on fire. He kept picking up those poor snakes and reptiles that were injured and trapped. You could see the agony on his face, that these poor creatures were in pain and he knew he couldn't save them all and it hurt him.
I hope that the awareness he brought to the world stays with us and we learn that we have to preserve wildlife. Now not later.

It's now 2007, and I'm watching him follow a leopard in the Kalahari. I don't think I'll stop missing him for a very long time. I am SO sorry for Terri and the kids!

Yeah a little. I really didnt think it was smart to put his kid in danger in front of crocodile/aligator though. That only happened once.

I really do miss him. I was watching Animal Planet yesterday when his show came on and I felt that loss again.

What a great man. He did some wonderful things for this world, i just think it a shame that it took his passing for the world to ralley behind him. I believe that people deserve to know just how much they are loved and appreciated before they cant say thank you. bless the irwin family.

I miss him terribly. I am so sorry for his family.
I'm watching him now, and tearing up. He did, and continues to do, so much good for the animals.

That family walks their talk. They made millions, from the shows. They live in a nice, ordinary, middle-class house, and used the money to buy vast tracts of land, which they are leaving wild.

Even my two pet iguanas enjoy his show. Or, maybe they enjoy seeing a human getting whupped-on by reptiles. :-)

I didn't watch his shows regularly, but I was very sad to hear that he had died. He was an amazing conservationist, and I believe he and his family have helped open many eyes to conservation issues.

Yes, and I think more-so after I saw all the documentaries on his life and his efforts to save Australian wildlife. I also feel for the rest of the family, especially the two young children.

My sister and I do impressions of him--in tribute, of course, not to make fun. Even though he might not have been everyone's cup of tea, it seems like no one has anything bad to say about the man.

Yes, I miss him every day. We truly lost a wonderful person. He made the world a better place. I wish we could all be on fire as he was about not only animals but the world and the people around it.

    PEACE

I miss him every day! I am bummed since Croc Hunter is no longer on Animal Planet. I wish they would show the New Breed Vets program that he filmed the year before he passed. We never got a chance to see that although it is shown in Europe. He was a part of our family and we miss him like a brother.

Not much except his coloboration to our world was fascinating. Moment of silence for him.
