  • Laws are very different from nation to nation, and Answerbag is worldwide. You would need to indicate what country or jurisdiction you are asking about to get a clear answer that would do you any good.
  • It depends on the situation with your family and the law of your state. I've been wanting to move out too, and one of my friend actually did move out (he's 17 years old too). I don't think that you should do it without parental consent, you could get in trouble with your parents for it (and possibly the law). You should get consent if you decide to move out.
  • The problem in the US, is even if you have parental consent to move out, you cannot legally sign a contract, therefore you cannot sign a lease.
  • i would advise getting consent... if you get kicked out of the new place they will be more likely to help you if you end up stranded
  • I don't think so. It depends on the state and countries laws.
  • Its not advisable to move out with out consent or at least a nod of understanding. In almost all states, you cannot sign a contract. Some states limit certain contracts to 21. Secondly, unless you have financial means, you will need a second signature on any contract. This will be someone who guarentees your obligation if you fail to uphold your terms. This is regardless of your ability to pay. Finally, some states have emancipation laws for minors. You will need an attorney to appeal for a judgement.
  • is it legal, without emancipation, to move out of your parnents house at the age of 17 in Arkansas
