My kids twitch while they are asleep. It's not constant, but but happens right before falling asleep and waking up. Should I be concerned?

Twitching can also be a sign that they are dreaming. The groggy state right before they wake up or shortly after falling alseep is usually when people have R.E.M. sleep. Your kids are probably very active during the day and are just replaying the days events in their heads, like running, falling off the swing, swinging a baseball bat, any one of those dreams could cause muscles to tense quickly and make them twitch.

your kids have a lot on their mind? When I got divorced, and moved out, and was financially a mess... I was able to sleep, but I was told I would twitch. I did it for months.

My better half does this, aside from being incredibly cute, it lets me know when she is down for the count

I'm 40 and still twitch right before falling asleep. I turned out okay! ;-) It actually lets my better half know when I'm out for the count. I sleep like a baby and am very at peace with my life, so I wouldn't worry. I see the twitching as a release from the day and my body and mind preparing itself for rest.

You'd be surprised at how much most people move around in their sleep.
