The key to my flat! I locked up and grabbed the rubbish to put in one of the large bins in the basement. When I threw the rubbish I also threw my key. I didn't realize this until I was miles away. Doh!

Jim is the listener, not me. I don't notice stuff like that (well..if the engine dropped out I think I'd probably notice)..I think it's a "guy" thing. He'll ask me "did you hear that?" and I have no idea what he is talking about! :) ((hugs))

Odd you should ask... made a kind of whimpering noise coming home last night - then I realised I was in the wrong gear! Mind you, I was stuck behind an ice-cream van crawling at 5mph... could've got out and bought a Rocket! ;p Poor little car. I do love it so, and I treat it so badly :( Even threatened to cut it's head off!

My car's all kinds of f'd up. I've got a consistant heavy coolant leak, that came back after only a few months of having it "fixed." Since December, I've put over 4K into "fixing" it, but seem to have the same problems arising still. I'm fed up..... and running out of money.

When I had my golf it use to play up a lot and it seemed to happen after my night shift scared the you know what out of me !

When we were in AZ about a year ago. About 7,000 on it (thank God it was warranted) and I had just had it serviced by the dealer (free for 1st yr.). It made noises, steam came out of the radiator, gague showed HOT. Then it wouldn't run. I had just driven it 1200 miles on the highway. Called the 1-800 # and had it carried in by flatbed truck. Low on coolant. Dealer said hoses were not tightened at the firewall and the coolant leaked out. Good thing we were in the Show Low area and not in the middle of the desert.

When a truck sideswiped me on the Motorway . The crashing grinding noise was pretty horrendous.

About 2 months ago there was a loud grinding noise we were pretty sure came from the right passenger wheel. Looked at it and it was the brake pads:-)
