Where is the outside air temperature sensor located on a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis LS?

    You have two between the grill and the Air Conditioner condenser (the thing that looks like the radiator). Take off the black plastic cover located in the engine compartment, behind the grill. Just off to the inside of the passenger headlight you will see a bracket with two sensors on it. Both will be connected to a harness. One goes to your air conditioner, and the other goes to the digital thermometer that's probably showing -35 degrees on a 90 degree day. Disconnect the sensors before trying to remove. Likewise, it is easier to remove the bracket to access the nut on the inside of the bracket. This will all make sense once you start. Resistance should be less than 500 ohms if the sensor is good. However I have found it's more reliable to spend the $17 and replace it. If that doesn't fix it, you have a break in the harness, or it can be the computer. Good night and good luck. :-)
