Does hair grow faster in braids opposed to just straight ?
Is there any situation that would cause hair to grow at more than normal rate

Your hair would grow faster if it were straight, and have the ends trimmed now and then. Braids, tighten up the hair to the point of breakage. The best climate to grow hair is where there is plenty of humidity. If you are not in a place with lots of humid temps, maybe just wear it down, and take care of it, it will grow.

I suggest if your hair is thick and letting it breathe is good but at the same time putting braids in it help grow it. Only if you keep it oiled and tied down at night before resting your head

Scalp massages help to stimulate hair growth, also the side that you sleep on will grow faster than the other due to the massaging it receives during movement in your sleep. Try alternating sides you sleep on to even out growth and get someone to massage your scalp.
