  • Inside cats still get the same urges as outside cats, and even tho they have been fixed, that does not change their brains. Some cats see other cats outside and either want to mate or fight, so I think what kitty is doing is very normal. The people next door have one who is always in window, clawing to get out, but has never been outside..
  • these poor cats would just like to go out.... people that keep them in all its life have them in "prison" or "jail" when your cat sits there looking out , it is just yearning to be out there, and can't believe there are other cats out there who get to go out while he is "In Prison" maybe taking him out on a leash might help.... late at night to start as cats feel more comfortable at night, maybe because its quieter. try it for just a few minutes at first ...then slowly increase the time out doors. sit on the grass with him on your lap, then allow him to roam....one of those retracting extention type leashes would be great. I hope you do this ...I think your cat will be much happier and may look forward to these little out in the world visits after awhile.
  • My thanks to the person who answered my question so promptly ! I'm relieved to know there are other Kitties with the same issues..at windows ..although there's no attempt to claw his way out ..he sits patiently perhaps making plans - hoping to hear the words Romeo Romeo where for art thou Romeo ! So he has 'ideas' now and then..but haven't we all ! It is unfortunate there are still cat owners today who still believe the domesticated cat should roam free...to encounter cars, trucks and dangers they never knew when wild so long ago. Our cats are safe, have fun together and are well taken care of... seen by their Vet on a regular basis...they chase and climb and enjoy their life with us. I wish all cats could have such love from their humans. Thanks to all who love and care for their Indoor Cat.
