Try to aim for something ambiguous. Nothing based on religeion, but the the ceremony itself. Dont make this joyous occasion difficult.

Umm How involved are they with their religion? I say that because I'm a Lutheran and its against the church rules for me to marry a non-christian. (I can marry non-Lutherans but not a non-Christian) If she isn't a Christian then she must convert to the one true faith or I can't marry her. But then again I'm very devout and I'm doubting that he is as devout as I am.

i think that you should speak to each party about it.. unless someone is being left out on this information. After hearing their responses.. decide what best suits the two of you. If they oppose the idea, i would then discuss a small wedding full of friends and people that understand the meaning of your relationship. If they agree i would go through with a big wedding.. also you could have two low budget weddings. Or have one wedding and discuss which practice you would want to be married to more. In the end the decision is up to you two and no one else. It was your choice to fall in love and nothing, not even religion can stop it.
