I think it's a case when you tend to keep thinks stored that "might come in handy some day" They rarely do or you end up forgetting you have them stored in the first place but you don't want to risk it. : )

When I had my new kitchen fitted in this new place My husband immediately claimed 3 drawers and two cupboards for what he called important things he may need one day. (Junk ) not important enough for his office. Now he has gone they are still full I do not feel I can throw any of his junk away.

Call it your 'valuables drawer' and see how long it stays full yo...
-
Junk is another word for stuff. That's where you put some of your stuff.
-
I think we just wait around for that junk drawer to fill up to it's brim. When it overflows, we usually empty it's contents into the nearest waste paper basket. This usually happens when it's time to move out of the house.
-
well.. would you rather call it random stuff we couldnt find a place for drawer??
-
Because you never know when you'll need a halogen bulb, a chinese restaurant menu, or some wood glue :)
-
...gee, when I can't find something...I go to my junk drawer...surely my junk drawer won't let me down!
-
The reason we call it "junk" drawer is because it's easier to say than the scientific name "sytumineras draderous waitulawngerous."
