Supposedly, the deal is going through for foreign brewer InBev to take over long-standing American company Anheuser-Busch. How do you feel about it? Why do so many American companies sell out? Can we be proud Americans if we sell out to foreigners?

It's all about the mighty dollar. Shame on the A-B owners for selling out. So many jobs will be lost and those who aren't laid off will have a poorer retirement plan.
I will not purchase an A-B product again.
There are very many non-US owners of businesses in the USA, most people don't know half of them. And not only businesses, it's also real estate.

Well, it looks like it's a done deal, as Anheuser-Busch has accepted InBev's offer of $4.9 billion.

I just hope it improves the taste of the beer. I have yet to find any American beer that compares with what I drank over in Britain last year.

The bottom line is money, honey..many businesses are tanking..our dollar is embarrassingly weak..our economy is getting worse. China and Japan already own a lot of us..so those businesses that want to get out while they can do. I don't know any serious beer lover who will settle for the package stuff you find in the supermarket that these companies produce..they want the excellent quality you find at Micro Breweries and Brew Pubs. You have to satisfy stockholders..they'd have to approve the sale...and so it goes! :(

I was disappointed when I heard that on the news. The US economy could really use a boost and that certainly isn't it! The companies sell out for profits. They are in business to make profits and sadly that doesn't always lead to patriotic loyalty.

It bothers me from the standpoint that it has been a family-run business for so long. Also, with the Headquarters being right here in my home state, I'm very familiar with the operation. I even attended beer school there one summer. So, on a personal level, I hate to see the takeover happen.
