    Stan is probably Eminem best song, but No, "Stan" is not based on any true incident/story . Its was just made my Eminem to show the world how fans do crazy things, when they feel ignored or when what they think is true doesn't turn out to be what it seems to be. Eminem in the song merely tells how someone who's obsessed with him, might do such crazy stuff -like killing himself/herself and harming others (like Stan did to his girlfriend in the song). Eminem sends out a message to all his fans, how much he loves them and what each fan means to him. He indirectly is advising people not to such things, no matter who the people admire/adore. But there are Eminem fans like Stan, who might do such things.
