Help answer this question below.

Has any player ever had 2 pinch hits in one inning? That is; a pinch hitter hit during a 'rally' inning, the team batted around and gave the pinch hitter a 2nd at bat.

    CHANGES IN SCORING/PLAYING RULES Rule changes made throughout the century provide safe harbor for many previously established "records." For example, pinch-hitters can no longer be credited with two pinch hits in the same inning as they once were. There are many of these instances in the books, but a rule instituted in the 1950s precluded a player from pinch-hitting for himself if he stepped to the plate a second time in the same inning. A second at-bat by the same pinch hitter now is considered as that player batting for himself, not for another player.

    technically, once the pinch hitter hits a second time or goes out in the field, they are no longer a pinch hitter, but a player.

    Back on Aug.14th at Olympic Stadium in Montreal the Expos were leading the Phillie 8-4 having scored 6 runs off Steve Carleton.. In comes Bill Robinson to pinch hit for George Vukovich and singles off Woody Fryman, the Phillies continue to rally and up comes B.Robinson again with the bases loaded and hits a Grand Slam off of Ray Burris ,the next batter goes out and the Phillies end up with a 9 run inning.. The final score is 15-11 for Philadelphia...What a wild and wooley game , one of the most exciting I've ever had the privilege of attending....In the 54 years that I've followed the wonderful game of Baseball, there must be a few more of 2 pinch hits in the same inning by the same player ??
