  • Yes, gargle with a mixture of hydrogen piroxide and water -- just make sure you don't swallow it.
  • Number one please stop breaking open the pus pockets. You are damaging the membrane lining of your throat and leaving it open for more infection. To treat the infection, keep taking your anti-biotics and gargle with warm salt water.
  • gargle with salt water Listerine and hydrogen peroxide... try the first two and save the hp for last it tastes terrible
  • Gargle with Apple cider vinegar. It's discusting, but I promise you it will heal a lot faster.
  • Its sounds like strep throat or tonselitis. I use to get this alot when I was younger. I've made this concoction of hot tea, honey, lots of lemon spiked with a bit of whiskey or any other brown liquor. Its very smooth on the throat when you sip it. You don't want to try to remove the pus as it will just regenerate anyhow, I imagine that its making it feel worse. The antibiotics should clear it up in a few days. You also want to gargle warm salt water, it will help soothe your throat as well as break away the dead tissue. Its pretty nasty but worth it... Good luck.
  • I'm no doctor, but it sounds like you could have strep throat. Do you have a temperature?
  • Quit scraping it. You could spread the infection to your hands or other surfaces. Just ask your doctor what you should do for relief of your symptoms.
  • Bah. See a doctor. You sound like you have tonsilitis or mono. I have had the former many times and the later once. For me, neither went away without prescription medicine. You can do all that stuff to make your throat feel better, but I doubt it'll cure it.
  • That sounds vaguely familiar to something I had...Gargle salt water and it'll go away within a day. Sorry if it doesn't work.
  • I also have an extremely sore throat where i can't even swallow..pus pockets on back of throat and further down esophagus....Been to the MD, ER twice....no streph, mono...just a virus that has to run it's course....gargling with warm, salt water, bought "Traditional, Medicinal Throat Coat tea. ( at Shop Rite) is helpful.....md's have a lidocane mouth rinse that also helps...good luck
