• excusse me he has a learners permit and Here in wyoming you have to drive so many hours with a parent before getting your lisence. I don't think I ever said if he drove alone or not so don't judge me until you know!!!

• ok learners permits just means that its a permit TO LEARN how to drive not to just go out there and actually do it. and yes i have my learners permit already but i live in canada and here u cant legally drive till ur 18. 16, u can only get ur G1 cert, which means only the written part of the drivers license exam. that doesnt give u the G2 u need to actually drive till ur 18 and u take the actual driving part of the exam then. but then u shud follow that plan and halt ur son's driving till 18 cuz..... canada's so much better. :P

• you said it. music definatly defines who are metally and sometimes socially. but as for me, my group of friends at school dont listen to all the same music, some might have some likes in common, but we all have a different fav, making us i guess "different" from each other. which in my opinion is cool.

• When I was 12 I wasn't telling girls to suck my d*ck (which happened to my sons girlfriend) and I didn't have a myspace account or email for that matter. I didnt' start all of that until I was 14. I'm just saying kids have started out younger than when I was in school. When we were 12 we thought about picking on boys, beating them up, sleep overs and so on. It's like they skipped all that and went straight to f*ckin.

  drugs = no, its bad for your health
  sex = not until im older
  drinking = no, it affects your brain to much as a teen
  skipping school = no, i learn something there and that will help me establish a good life.
  fighting over nothing = no, i leave that to others. there is no reason to fight over petty things
  myspace and aim = no, although i do go on facebook occasionally
  disobeying parents = no, they are older and know whats best... usually. if its not best then i will argue my point so they see what i mean
  nothing productive = i do learn things and have a job etc. thats productive.. but in general yes. i cant argue with that. we are all guilty of that sometimes

• Obviously, the AACAP has no clue in eplaining what my kids are going through. The topics they discuss are catch all phrases that mean nothing to me as a parent. I will take my info from the great girls & boys that took the time to answer this question. Although I don't agree with what they are doing...I see that peer pressure is still alive, and the AACAP has no solution for THAT!!! I read all the answers and I get a better sense of what happening in the day of a young, soon to be adult from thier answers.

• I actually work with 11-15 year olds. I guess their school behavior is different than what you see at home since my first response was rated negatively and my second response was never rated. I too value the responses from the teens who posted; but I doubt its a representative sampling of 12-15 year olds.

• I respect the fact that you have a real time contact with this age kids. It was the answer from the AACAP that was so out of touch with what was being commented on by the kids...sounded more like an in-service class from a middle school psycologist. I do appreciate your comment and hope that I was not too harsh about "The Establishment" and the way it was presented. Felt so sterile...Thanx again...I did rate it up from a -2 to a 0.
