It's not a battle against flatland Arab nations here.
Once they do, it's possible that the Hezbollah factions in Syria and Lebanon would also counterstrike against Israel and other Arab nations and Palestinians might find the perfect opportunity to assault Israel.
It would be the biggest mistake that they ever would make.

I think that everyone under estimates the power of the israeli army, sure it would be tough, but lets face it. They are one of the top 5 militaries in the world. If the Arabs decide to attack Israel it would be a grave mistake for those countries. Israel has shown in the past that it is not intimated by any nation. Quite frankly Israel would not be hesitant to launch nuclear weapons if she were pressured to do so.

It's a tough question. Iran is a much more powerful country that Iraq, Afghanistan and others in the Middle-East and as painted by the Americans, and is why they are reluctant as attacking it.
They also have a great deal of support (Iran)in that entire territory that is worrying the US. It will also bring oil embargo and affect the US in many ways, not even talking about Venezuela's oil embargo on the US for supporting Iran against any other attackers on Iran.
Remember, Israel does not bring us a penny from the Middle East other than a foothold, which that too is conjonctured! They have used us to instaure their State but do not support us in a thousand ways!
The US knows how much is to beware fron Iran, a lot at stakes there, to make a long story short, they will try to stay out without support for as long as they can. Israel knows they may not win this fight!
Again, Iran is not a defenseless nation as Lebanon, Israel has already got a big NO-NO from the US on attacking Iran late last year, that is because Israel's future would be threatened by a war on Iran without the US and the US DO NOT want to get involved.

Israel vs Iran war would be a terrible mistake. I believe both the countries (Though I doubt that Israel is a country) have Nukes and both are careless type.
The question of winning/losing a war is not the fact these days.
The fact is Israel will have to face the counter attack of surrounding countries + Iran's missile attack if they start a illegal war. US sucks in middle-east.

Israel could easily defeat Iran. Two reasons: 1) Israel has more nukes and better delivery capability. 2) Israel is also home to Islam's third holiest shrine-the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. If Iran even looks like it's warming up its long range missiles, it'll be the end of Iran. Israel will shoot down the incoming missiles and the rest of the Arab world will take down Iran. Cutting off military aid to Israel will only exacerbate the situation and put the Middle East right on the brink of war. Only one thing is scarier than a country with nukes, and that's a country with nothing BUT nukes.

Israel would not be able to defeat Iran on a one on one fight. Israel does not have the man or logistics. Iran can not be defeted by means of air strikes. Too defeat Iran Israel would need to put boots on the ground and that is something it can not do.It is only wishfull-thinking to belife that Israel can defeat Iran. The only way Israel can defeat Irans would be my menas of nuclear divices. If Israel uses a nuclear boom he would get ass wooped by Russian and China. Israel has at least 300 nuclear devices . Iran might have one or two already. The power of Israel's atomic bombs is on average much greater than anything Iran could make in the next 10 years. Israel possesses Hydrogen bombs which are 100 to 1000 times as powerful as the Hiroshima bomb. If Israel explodes one Hydrogen bomb 40 miles above Iran all electrical devices will cease to function . Then Iran will really be totally helpless. Israel has 5 submarines which can target 12 different Iranian locations each with nuclear tipped missiles. Iran doesn't have the capacity to track Israel's subs. The Arabs are joining Israel to fight Iran. Egypt allowed an Israeli sub to use the Suez canal to move close to Iran. The Arabs know Israel has had nukes for 40 years but has never used them or threatened to use them. The Arabs are very afraid of Iran and will help Israel in a war, although Israel doesn't really need their help. So Iran will return to the stone age while Israel will suffer severe casualties but remain a functioning nation in any war. 300 nukes> 2 or 3

Lets hope we never have to find out. Israel has a powerful military and top notch intelligence. They are quite formidable in and of themselves. However, I doubt Iran would be flaunting their nuclear technology or flexing military muscle if they didn't have strong ties with China.

A conversation is taking place in Jerusalem over a couple of bourbons. An American and an EX Aman about threats to Israel. Eventually the talk gets around to scenarios that could threaten the actual existence of Israel … maybe … Iran and NUKES. The Yank said that they must have a last ditch contingency to fall back on. When they could count on no one else for help - even the USA. The Aman guy gave the Yank a look and turned the tables on him. He asked what he thought that could be. The Yank told him the same thing that worked for us during the Cold War – MAD - Mutually Assured Destruction. He went on. Using back channels, Israel makes it known to it’s Arab and Persian 'neighbors' that if Israel should sustain a nuclear strike from ANY them, effectively destroying the State of Israel, ALL their capitol cities, the Canal, the oil fields, Mecca and Medina will be at 10,000 degrees before the dust settles over Tel Aviv.
The Jew just looked at the Yank and said, “You ARE nuts. I got the tab.”

It depends who you define the word defeat. Israel could certainly defend itself
against Iran with superior technology and weapons systems. But Israel does not
have the man power to occupy Iran. Israel would likely seek to destroy Iran's ability
to make war, attack missile sites, nuclear sites, military bases, air strips, command and control centers ect. But that is the extent of their capability. Iran could do some serious damage though with recently bought Russian weapons, advancing
missile technology and possibly nukes. Isreal probably has superior nuclear
capabilities at this point but what is the point in that? If the Arab countries truly
felt they could defeat Israel they would have done it a long time ago.

All out war 1v1, Depends, if iran tries to capture israel, iran will lose, If israel tries to capture iran, its gona need more then bombing from above, soldier deployment, which israel cannot do without the help of u.s., since its no longer bush administration, that wont happen. If Israel hit and runs with air bombings, iran said they will followup with 11 000 missles/bombs back, if israel uses nuclear weapons, russia and china will then help iran, without u.s. israel cant do much against iran.
