You're reading What does a prescription reading "ASA 5 Suppository BID for 2 weeks" mean?
Comments
Thanks for your answer, but that was the easy part.
I was particularly seeking what the dosage was and how many per day.
Hint - The supps are 5 grains.
Any professionals out there with an answer?

In a prescription, it's typically the medication followed by dosage, followed by dosage interval, and then length of treatment. From what I understand, ASA 5 IS the medication, which, if it's like every other suppository I've dealt with, is a predetermined dose. 5 grains is equal to about 323 milligrams. You would take one of those twice a day (BID).
