  • Don't put anything in your cat's eyes. If the kitten has crusty eyes, just take a cotton cloth or cotton ball and get it damp with luke warm water, then gently wipe the OUTSIDE of the kitten's eyes to remove the crusties that have accumulated on the outside of the eye. Never touch their eyes, or put anything in their eyes. If they appear to have an infection, or some sort of other eye problem, take them to a vet.
  • I would recommend against your applying any boric acid to the kittens, as you could risk blindness. If you would like to clean their eyes, consider using a cotton ball, moistened with saline. With it, cleanse the outside of the eyelid very gently. Do not penetrate the eye or go behind the eye lid. Try warm water on a Q-tip and GENTLY swab the eyes. The water will loosen the crust. You can purchase boric acid powder at the pharmacy, but it really can cause eye damage.
