  • My son started taking L-Theanine and Omega 3 fatty acids a few months ago. Since my husband has bipolar my son cannot take traditional treatments like Ritalin. So I started him on Omega 3 fatty acids but noticed little change. I decided to up his dose of Omega 3 fatty acids and noticed some improvement. However, I have noticed huge changes in my son since I have added the L-Theanine!!!! My son is hyperactive and distracted but is extremely impulsive and can at times be violent towards me. My son would have uncontrollable fits of rage where he would throw things and kick and hit me but has not done that since on the L-Theanine. He is 5 years old and huge for his age so I was relieved to finally have something to help him. My son is more able to focus and is far less impulsive. He still has his issues, but is much better now...able to cope with. L-Theanine takes a few months to kick in so don't give up. Also, make sure you are getting it from a good source, simply taking green tea will not help because we get cheap green tea here and it's content of L-Theanine is very little compared to what they get in the orient.
  • my son suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. he is only 9 years old. what amounts for l-theanine were recommended to you thank you,
  • L-theanine will help with anxient but there are many other issues to address with children with ADHD. Other problems may be causing ADHD symptoms. Undiagnosed sensory integration disorders, nutritional deficiencies, food allergies or sensitivities are some examples. I advise you and others to see an expert in sensory integration and also check out nutritional therapies. My husband and I experienced these issues with our son and founded a development center (SPARK development center) in Lynbrook New York to help other children overcome their ADHD and/or learning problems. Our website is www.sparkcenters.com.
