Brown is indeed dominant - so the brown eyed parent may well have one brown gene and one blue gene. The blue eyed parent will have two blue genes. In this case they should expect half their children to have blue eyes and half to have brown, depending which gene they get from the brown-eyed parent.

My mom is a brown-eyed Italian, and my Dad a blue eyed German. They have four children: 2 hazel, 2 blue, and NO brown. It's weird. It's like the blue is dominant. My husband and I have hazel eyes, and our boy has blue.

Yes. I am Brown eyed brown haired Italian-German, My Father was hazel eyed and my siblings all blue eyed (five in all) most blonde. My Mother had steel blue eyes and blonde hair as does my daughter. In terms of genetics I must have blue eyes, and they are but just around the arc of the iris. I am a phenotyptic variant. I loook exactly like my father did. My wife has hazel eyes and blonde hair. It would be impossible for us to have a brown eyed girl. My eyes are really blue but phenotypically dark in the center of the iris. My daughter's eyes are as my mother's were, steel blue grey.
