    1. Obey the traffic laws and signals. This includes the speed limit.
    2. Leave plenty of distance between you and the car ahead of you.
    3. Remove distractions like cell phones, eating and drinking, and smoking while driving. Studies show that doing these while driving increase the rate of accidents.
    4. Wear your seat belt.
    5. Keep your car properly maintained, to avoid mechanical problems and/or blowouts, or other emergencies.

    By taking the pass plus scheme.

    By not going too far on it the first time.

    By getting someone else to go with you first time.
