At the pizzeria near my house: Largest is 16inch (automatically with a cheese crust) but large is 12inch

I grew up in New Jersey, where a “large” is generally either 16ʺ or 18ʺ. (Some places have larger sizes, but 16-18ʺ is the nominal “large.”) Where I live now—Indiana—most pizza places are chains, so everybody caters to the lowest common denominator: a “large” is only 14ʺ.

At Free Wheeler pizza in Salt Lake City, Utah a large is 16" while Good Guys Pizza in Everett, Washington is a 14" pie.
-
Well in apache pizza in Ireland its about 16"

I'd say that 16" is the normal sized "large" pizza in SoCal.

A large around here is about 16". Family sized is 18" and a medium is 12-14"

Generally 14" and the medium is 12"... Who would order a small or a medium when you can just stick the leftover slices in the oven the next day?? :)

National chains are pretty consistant with a 14" large. Locals change it up to do something different.
