It is anti meridian and post meridian, but it doesnt have to to with the Prime Meridian, otherwise we would all be on Greenwich Mean Time, which we obviously arent. The meridian refered to is 12 O'Clock-this definition was made long before the establishment of the Prime Meridian. Thus its just the Latin for "Before 12" and "After 12".
