Is there such a thing as "you break it you buy it insurance"?

You break it you buy it is not really a law. If a retailer puts something in harms way and it gets broken, you are not liable. The retailer should have made a better effort to keep something valuable out of harms way. Even if they have a sign that says, "You break it, You buy it" it doesn't matter. I could put up a sign that says "I am the King of England" It doesn't make it true. It is funny to see those signs up in places, "Not resposible for accidents" You can't predict who is responsible for an accident ahead of time true, but you are still liable if it happened on your property. Our Law professor got very annimate about this and a little bit of fire shot out of her nose during this discussion.
