I went there once. Don't worry I washed my hands after! I wasn't there long enough to get violations...I just tossed a few answers and left.
Welcome!
Hey and a warm welcome to answerbag :-) have never used yahoo before but have heard enough about it, have no wish to leave a friendly place for what has been described as "ya-hell".
I haven't been on Yahoo Answers... but there's a whole bunch of people here who used to spend time there and have said they like AB better.
Yes, but AnswerBag is better. More convenient and better answers. 70% of the answers there are like, yes, no, don't know.
Yes, I got a lot of violations for no reason, and the stupidest violations I've ever gotten was "Chatting".
i used to a month ago..till i discovered the wonderful world of being an answerbagger..on my own accord, walked away from answers..because i felt it wasnt enriching enough..(IMO) only! i love the comments option as it allows you to chat with someone, something answers forbids members from doing too much chatting across the board. AB is my new home now.
I have. It was the first Q&A site that I ventured into. I really regret it. It is foul because the answers and questions can be very degrading to anyone that enters that site. I can tell you one thing: I LOVE IT HERE!! Now that I have seen the difference between this and that site, I can tell you I will never go back there again.... except for 1 reason.... 1...
Yes, I'm there daily. I see that Satine is unhappy with it, but I think it all depends on the category that you're interested in. Some are just plain flame magnets, like organized religion or politics. Others, like home improvement, sports and travel aren't. I tend to hang my hat in those areas and find them quite useful with rarely any stupidness going on.
I left Yahell to come here. That site is a cesspool overrun with trolls and no customer service.
Yes, but I don't get on there often bc my work computer has that web site blocked. =P At work is when I spend most my time on the computer.
i have just left that site. after my acct was hacked..twice lmao. i laugh because there is no use to get angry. tons of spam in my inbox, ever mounting complaints in the suggestion forum..it got really redundant. its still a decent site for entertainment purposes..
After a year and a half as a member, I walked away from from a level 5 and never looked back. The place is plagued with too many problems no one cares to address. I like it here so much better!
Yahoo! Answers is not my type. Answerbag is my type.
I was ...but then got frog marched of the site by trolls ...because I wouldn't tow the bigoted right wing line
1) Yes, but I did not register, so I do not know very much about it. They have some interesting features.
They have not only much more users, but also more questions and answers.
2) You can ask your questions everywhere. But if you want to give answers on such a site, I think you will probably make a choice where you do it.
I choosed Answerbag because I find it nice here.
Because of fewer users, it is easier to know them.
And those who don't like that just change names...
3) Anyway, I suppose most of the answerers to this question will find AB better. (otherwise, they would not stay here!)
yes, i do at the moment. but the questions aren't very well put together. it's only every once in awhile when every word is actually spelled right. i like this place alot better. it cures my boredom at work.
Yes I have and still do occasionally. But, I find that I spend more time on AnswerBag.
Yes, but I did not register as a member. The side makes me lost. I came to answerbag as everything is exactly my cup of tea. People on answerbag are so nice.
I have never tried Yahoo Answers. From reports that I have heard, it is steadily going down the drain in terms of quality. I'll remain faithful to the 'bag
G'day Aprilher,
Thank you for your question.
Yes I was on Yahoo! Answers for all of last year accumulating 47,000 points. However, I discovered Answerbag in January and switched because the people and environment at Answerbag are much better.
Yahoo! Answers is a much busier place but Answerbag is a lot friendlier.
Regards
I was there from March 2006 until a few days ago.
I got sick of getting such stupid violations - i asked the question "BrownIE points or Browning points?" because i genuinely wasnt sure of the correct terminology. I got a violation and when I asked why, Yahoo answers wouldnt tell me. I got sick of it, so I came here.
Yay, and it thoroughly sucked.
I agree with TheAnswerer. Scubabob has probably been on there long enough to have learned how to play without seeing as much abuse as I did there. I couldn't be bothered to take the time to get that good over there once I found Answerbag.
By the way, don't take offense if this question is removed, it's been asked in similar form many times already, so it could happen. If it does, just search for the others. You'll find some interesting answers to them. There are others, besides Scubabob, that still find YA worth while.
yes i have, its horrible! AB is alott better
Yes. I have an account there. I have been reported twice so far and the reasons in the reports were:
Insults. I said that anyone that believes the world will end in 2012 are idiots.
Not an answer. I replied to a spam question with Stop Spamming.
I also had an account in 2006 that got deleted for chatting questions.
I've tried it. And you get a response quicker to your question than answerbag. However the answers are horrible, usually in bad grammar, punctuation errors etc.. It takes some time to get an answer on answerbag, but at least they're easy to read and good advice.
HEy:] Well this is my first day using AB.
I used to be on Yahoo Answers for quite a long time.
I don't seem to like it as much. I hope this site will be better :]
Yes, me.
It's actually the first questions and answers website that I used. I spent an average of 16 hours a day there.
yes i have but not lately
do you like it better than answer bag??
Yes, I have an account there. I joined because, at the time, I wasn't aware that Answer Bag existed. Had I know about Answer Bag, I wouldn't have joined Yahoo Answers.
Yes I was for 12 consecutive months, reached level 7, 25,342 points and 69% Best Answers. I really worked hard to get there, only two small violations that were only in the Yahoo Answers staffs minds.
Those violations were arbitrarily considered such though I c/p the text from the Community Guidelines. That is why I never understood those two violations, but all the same I never appealed. I was never suspended which is a great achievement in Y!A.
All of a sudden I cleaned my stuff out & left. I did not care to turn my head back.
I just checked out yahoo answer for the first time..wow does it suck. Do you agree?
