They lock the doors at times when they have to count money, or get it ready to bring to the bank. They dont do it often though. Lastly if a suspicious person was hanging around outside, they might lock it till the police come.

heh, that's a good freakin question? Lock down in case of robbery or something, some of them have bulletproof windows, or at lest on my side of the down.

Could be a local municipal code requirement, could be a requirement of some insurance policy. Could be so they CAN close if ever they need to.

That is a good one -- They will lock the door's in emergency's and sometime's when doing inventory - Or going to the restroom if they are alone

These stores are so rare, I doubt there's much demand for secure doors without locks

Emergencies, inventory, sale, bankruptcy, or an unforeseen reduction in hours. Besides which they would have to be custom-made and that means they would cost more than doors WITH locks.

At the 24 hour stores where I have worked the locks were used most often so that the graveyard employee could go to the restroom.
