Is it really true that the military will not accept people who have 'flat feet'?

    Not entirely true. Much of it depends on the individual. It does have a tendency to cause problems such as shin splints. It can be a rather painful experience if not addressed properly. I am flat footed and served in the US Army. I only had problems in the beginning when I was made to wear arch supports. It turns out that some people are "flat footed", not because of the lack of an arch, but due to a weak arch.

    I know this case was true with my uncle. He went and signed up and they gave him a routine physical and they said he was not able to join because of not having an arch in his feet. It causes a problem because they have to wear those boots all the time and could cause complications if not worn properly.
