  • I'm not sure what you mean by a "button under the hood" but the schematic I have shows the only buttons for the horn are on the steering wheel. if you look at the connector at the horn, there is 3 wires, an orange wire (terminal A) and 2 black wires (terminals B and C). Terminal A (org wire) is the Battery positive (B+) power to the horn. Terminal B is the wire to the horn controls on the steering wheel(grounded when the button(s) are pushed). Terminal C is a ground wire. If you have some electrical savvy, this shold be a fairly easy diagnosis.
  • probably needs a horn...I have a 99 saturn sl1 and it needed a horn...I girlfriend's sister has the same car and her horn went bad too, so try a horn...good luck
