You're reading I purchased a car from a private party making monthly payments . There is nothing in the contract about repossessing or breach, can the person holding the title reposess the car anyway

Now you sue the seller for the return of the monies you've paid. It's the seller's fault (if I understand it right) the car was repossessed. He needs to return the money you've paid because you have nothing to show for it. He breach

On the flip: A year and a half ago (approx) I sold a car to a private party who agreed to make payments but stopped. Then several months later, he abandoned the car in front of a business near my home where the car apparently broke down. When I asked the business owner about it, he said that he had just called the police to tow the car. I then called the police and explained the situation to them. I let them know that I still had the pink slip and extra keys, but was not sure if there had been any attemps to register the car into his name. The police advised me to reposess the car and remove it from that location. I made several attempts to work out the payment situation with the buyer, but he could not finish paying the remainder and eventually he moved without leaving any contact info. A few months later, he left a message on my answering machine, saying that he was going to report the car stolen and/or sue me in court. Still no contact info. How can I resolve this situation?
