I'm assuming maybe a magnetic pulse gun? Kind of like a rail gun?

Google it. There are some sites out there with pretty detailed plans for such devices. Parts list, parts supplies, and everything.

For something simple, get an iron rod two or three feet long. Wrap a bunch of wire (14 gauge or so) around one end to make a BIG electromagnet at that end. Lots and lots of coils. Put a switch and plug on it.

Next, cut some copper tubbing or aluminum tubbing into rings which will slide easily down the upper portion of the iron rod. Plug it in and flick the switch on. The ring will fly off.

It does this because copper and aluminum are magnetically impermiable (magnetic lines of flux are not conducted through these metals like ferrous metals and other magnetic alloys). The expanding magnetic field, not able to cut through the aluminum or copper, forces it off the iron rod.

If you attempt to hold one of these rings in place, the magnetic energy will rapidly heat the metal until it's hot enough to burn your hand.

a real electromagnetic pulse is almost impossible to make so is an emp bomb but you can make a device that will do almost the same thing since its a pulse it cannot be earthed which it technically is. just like anything there is a way around it just like you can in theory make yourself invisible just by bending light rays around yourself its easy to say not to do .

to make a real EMP you need about 2 hundred metres of insulated copper wire and a very large non magnetic object in the shape of a ring to wrap the insulated copper leaving a strand on both sides around put this in a non magnetic container connect the copper wire to 18 volt battery wrap each strand around the battery tips then there you have it make sure you are not wearing anything magnetic wristwatches etc as they will rip your hand of and attach this will send out pulses and probably knock the neighbourhoods power out

please thisis only for educational purposes do not attempt it.

Wrap a load of 2 strand insulated wire around 1/2 of a heavy iron ring, then plug it into a variable AC power supply. Slowly wind up the power to create an alternating current electomagnet. Each time the power flips over, the field flips over and you get a pulse.
