    Depends on the public place.
If its a transvestite bar, then yes- stilettoes all-round.

Elsewhere, reactions might range from the odd raised eyebrow (say, if you were in Brighton or somewhere) to someone swinging a punch at you (local pub in rural Norfolk). If you're planning on stilletto wearing its worth bearing this in mind.

Stillettoes generally don't seem to go all that well with the male form, unless accompanied by similiarly feminine other gear and a slightly feminine physique. If you want to look good in heels, square cut Cuban heels are far more flattering on men, and probably more acceptable (being less noticable) to wear in public (though I'd still stay out of that pub if I was you)

If you are comfortable wearing stilettos and by that I mean they don't cause your feet discomfort, then you go for it.

Life's really much too short for us to start worrying about other people's reactions and if you want to wear stilettos with your outfit then you do so.

Like everything else in life just make sure you're doing what ever it is because you want to, not because it's what you think other people want or expect of you.

    All the best.

It is acceptable any place, any time.I am a guy who enjoys wearing pumps.I am not gay either.I have worn pumps in public before.I have gotten both positive reactions and negative reactions, from closed minded people. It isn't harming anyone. If someone doesn't like it,they are just going to have to get over it.

Meh, doesn't bother me any. Although I would think it's kind of weird if I saw it.

Contrary to what society want everyone to think, many men are wearing stilettos, in spite of the perceived social taboo. Like women, men have come to enjoy the feeling they get while wearing high heels and they like how they look wearing them. Men and women aren't as different as society wants us to believe. Whether the public accepts men wearing stiletto heels or not, men will continue to wear them because they have the same feelings and desires women have. It's really a shame people can't seem to grasp this principle, because they have been indoctrinated or brainwashed all their life about the differences between men and women, but rarely hear about their similarities.

Whether it's acceptable or not, I don't care. I've been doing it for more than ten years now. I wear them with short skirts and pantyhose, but making it clear I'm a man. I've had overwhelmingly positive reactions. Even in all that time, I can count the negative reactions on one hand. I'm not sure if you want to count that as "acceptable" or not.

Yes it is ok, why should it be any other way. Shoes, clothes are just that, it does not make the person any different still the same person. Women have gotten away with wearing items of clothing and footwear designed and even made for men. If you want to wear something then do so, I do.

Men in heels use to be considered a social taboo and done by those who only stayed out of the public notice, by those who used heels to be comedic, by those who crossdress, and by those who want to change their sexual identity. Now, there are men who wear high stiletto heels openly, because they enjoy the feel and look they have as men.

Actually, high heels for men has only been taboo for under two centuries. Many of the great men who were instrumental in drawing up the constitution of the United States wore heels. They weren't as high or thin as heels are available today, but the heels were usually over two inches high. In the mid 1800's, men's heels were flattened to about three quarters of an inch high to accommodated the gender phobia of thinking men and women shouldn't be aloud to appear in anything the other had, so the theory of masculinity and femininity was reinforced by defining what we now call the gender gap. Although the idea of gender is taught as fact, in reality, it is still theory, because there are too many contradictions that don't support society's edicts of the two categories. The same traits and desires that have been expressed by women have also been exhibited by men and the visa versa is also true. Even languages denote this by using derogatory labels like tomboys and sissies.

Heels being worn by men may be a bit unfamiliar to most people, but this is a trend to restore the freedom of personal choice, like women have been and are seeking liberation to do. Men are tired of being limited to only the few items of apparel they can select from. Putting high heels in their wardrobes opens many avenues of self-expression and self-image. Appearance is like knowledge, the more you know, the better you can select, the richer you will feel as a person. Those that resist change usually have no idea what is better for them.

Is it acceptable for women to wear stilettos? Well, it is just as acceptable for men to wear stilettos. A shoe has no gender of its own. I don't understand why this is uch a difficult concept for some to accept.

High heels are fun to wear. Contrary to the popular myth women have put forth, stiletto heels can be comfortable to wear. I'd wear them every day if I could.

Why is it that if a woman wears any kind of so-called men's clothing, she is not accused of being a transvestite or "obviously gay". Yet if a man dons a pair of stilettos, ignortant accusations and false assumptions are less than seconds away?

What will it take for fashion designers to finally do a big push to get men into stiletto hees in the mainstream so that it can be "socially okay"? There are so many men out there that want to wear stilettos, that it is a friggin gold mine.

I love nice, leather stiletto heels. I want to wear them, and I am a heterosexual male. I don't want to "be a woman", I just want the same rights they have.

    Have A Nice Day

On december 24 at8:00 in the morning a young 14 year old by the name Scott Johnson was found dead. Doctors couldn't come up with the cause of his death. His mother checked his email to see if she could figure out what had happened. Turned out he was still signed into myspace. She found he had gone to sleep after he read and didn't response to a chain letter. If you don't repost this to six questions a girl with no face will kill u tonight. Sorry I don't feel like dying

As a guy who wears stiletto pumps and boots in public myself, be warned that you must do it with extreme confidence. What you wear with them is also important, but avoid going over the top. It's also a good idea not to be overweight or musclebound. They do work well with good FITTED mens clothing. If you follow this advice you will have no problems wearing them in public. Chances are good that in time you will get many compliments on your choice of footwear.

This is one of my favorite pairs of stilettos I got from Talbots. They are nice leather, and came in a wide width. I'd ove to go out and wear these to work, to the store, everywhere! Isn't it silly that artifical societal brainwashing says I shouldn't?

do wear what you like as it ok fo rmen to wear any footwear - it not gay or anything so fancy to get change of fahsion and footwear, I have calf and knee length boots with flat heels (some are flat shoes such as pump shoes) that make my feet comfortable that nothing wrong with men to wear it so it yer business -no one else to tell you what to wear. People need to understand the English words as Gay or transvestie -- it not about clothes people think as gay that wrong answer - wear clothes we like are just as normal as you can see women wear most of men clothes and footwear even tie
