Are there any female taxi drivers? I've never seen one in real life or in any movies.

    Off course there are. Maybe not so many in bigger cities, but each and every city I have lived in has had them. I was a hack for three years, and worked with several of women. And they weren't all tough, if you know what I mean. The more feminine acting got better tips than any of us guys!

    I live in a small town and the taxi co. here has had women drivers for more than 20 years.

    I have seen many female taxi drivers in my town. Infact female taxi drivers make the most money and a lot of tips.

    Yes- In the town I used to live in most of the taxi drivers were female. Its a good job to combine with a family because to an extent you can choose your own hours.

    There are also all-female taxi companies in some cities, as women sometimes feel uncomfortable getting in a car alone with a strange man.

    Yes, there are many of us female taxi drivers - as a matter of fact I worked for 1 company that had all women working night shift and the guys came on in the morning to work the day shift - just how it worked out. There weren't as many when I started 10 yrs ago, but now we're everywhere.
