That's a toughie. I've found that a day off can actually be good, but you'll still get make-up work for the day you missed. So, sometimes that can backfire. Pulling a all-nighter is probably not a good idea. You do need sleep, don't you? For all you know, the midterm exam could be the next day. The best thing you can probably do is ask for in-school suspension. Don't just ask the monitor, either. You've got to clear it with every one of your teachers. (Also don't break the rules to get it. Some teachers won't give the classwork to students sent to ISS.) This will allow you to fully concentrate on your work, and chances are really good that you'll finish all the work that's burying you AND the work for that day. If you couldn't clear it with all your teachers, make sure you attend those classes, then head straight back for ISS. Lemme tell you, in middle school, after receiving one in-school suspension, I wanted it to stay that way for the rest of the year! I was done with everything by lunch! *ahem* So, to sum it up, voluntary ISS is your best bet.

That situation sucks...I feel for ya. Do you think that by missing another day of school you would fall even more behind? If so, you might want to try finishing your homework tonight. However, all-nighters are extremely unhealthy. You could always just go to school without having done all of your homework. Your physical and mental health are more important, and I'm sure your teachers will understand.

Is there any way you could increase your study time over a few days? Instead of going all night, if you study, say eight hours, study ten hours a day over 3 days. Then you would get caught up gradually.
