  • It is the only nation built upon God that is not constantly attacked by Arabs?
  • We don't all claim it is "the best country in the world". It is the best for most who live here, not necessarily for everyone. I think that is the same answer you would get from most people in the world about their own country.
  • i would hope that there is better!
  • Define "best". Denmark is officially the happiest country in the world http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/denmark-is-the-worlds-happiest-country--official-410075.html That is pretty important in my book.
  • I'm not a well traveled person, but I'm sure there are other countries which are better than America!
  • In absolute, rather than an egocentric sense, how cn you prove that America is the best country in the world? I am not saying it isn't, and I am sure you think it is - but everyone supports the home team, It is the richest - but has a very high level of inequality. It has superb health systems - but a low neonatal death rate for developed countries. Violent crime is high compared to other developed countries, as the the rate of STDs. Okay, Yay the home team, but which championships other than sheer wealth have you actually won?
  • Cars Opportunity Women It's as easy as 1, 2, 3 =)!
  • Because we are, we have the most freedoms, the greatest opportunity no matter what anyone says, And our money is still pretty good compared to the euro. Plus, we have freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and (my favorite) the right to bear arms :)
  • the only one fact that is at the present time america is developed country because of this they are 10 times better than other countryman. but i dont like their modern cultre.the most bad things that i dislike is the gay and the lesbian in america
  • We have more freedom than a lot of countries.
  • Oh puke.
  • I really hope that all the Americans giving us the benefit of their 'wisdom' are taking the piss.....if they're not, they're just validating the rest of the world's opinion of them.
  • Okay, Tom47 who feels "oh puke" is an inadequate answer, here are some more thoughts. I am an African, living in Africa, who has travelled to the States for academic conferences and also as a tourist. In many ways it is an exciting, vibrant country, full of interesting people and good ideas. New York is a beautiful world city - right up there with all the great centres of Empire since Rome. I made fantastic friends in the States, I've had great laughs, I've had all-night conversations with smart, ironic Americans and emerged a better person for it. I like the child-like excitement that many Americans have about the world. Americans have given us a wonderful, rich popular culture and some fine artists and novelists. But let me say this too. You are a gluttonous people who are using up our common global inheritance at an unsustainable rate. When we try to stop you, you ignore us, vilify us, bomb us. You are the global playground bully. And here I am echoing a sentiment you will hear from everyone everwhere you go, so at least give it two seconds' thought before you dismiss it as "anti-American propaganda". You have transormed your landscape into something sterile and monotonous. American towns all have the same dull shops, the same fast-food outlets, the same drab modernist architecture. I don't think you even know what nature looks like any more. I would die if I had to live there. It is like a big cage. For all your wealth, you are unhappy. You gobble anti-depressants and anxiolytics like sweets. You're dying slowly of overeating, of all the toxins you pour into your body, and you're poisoning the agriculture of the rest of the world with your monocultures and genetically modified crops. Ask an American about being happy and they will recount some nostalgic scene from childhood. Nobody is happy NOW. You don't know what real poverty looks like any more because you use us, the rest of the world, as your working class. We provide your junk plastic commodities for you and live like animals below the minimum wage. In return for this excellent deal, you pay our governments some "aid money" that we never see. The average American is a crass, thoughtless, racist person. I was embarrassed in Louisville to be called a "nigger" on numerous occasions by cars full of louts of half my age and with a third of my intelligence. In my own country I can at least live with a modicum of dignity. I don't have to be frightened to venture onto the street because I am the wrong skin colour. So to my answer: I don't think my own country is the "best in the world", although all my most precious memories will be buried with me here. But I would emigrate almost anywhere rather than the U.S. Canada, Scandinavia. Anywhere in Europe. North Africa. Turkey. Eastern Europe. South America. It's all better. And yes, I'd rather stay here in my developing world backwater than to move to your country and to risk losing my humanity. It's precisely the kind of silly chauvinist nationalism that asks a question like "Why is America the best country in the world?" that lies at the heart of your problem. The moment you step outside the U.S., you'll notice that people don't like your country and that they laugh at Americans. Do you really think we are all deluded and misinformed? Is there really a global anti-American conspiracy? Are we all wrong and you are right? If your answer is "yes", I must point out that this is the way crazy people and fools tend to account for paradoxes and and anomalies in their reality.
  • It's not. Maybe it is the best for you, but for a lot of other people, it's far from it. If you go to Iraq, and ask children who's parents and homes have been destroyed by American bombs if they think America is the best, they wont give the same answer as you. Best is relative.
  • No such place as the best country in the world exists, except in the minds of the inward-looking, xenophobic and ignorant.
  • Why are you joking?
  • Is this a joke question because i cant stop laughing!!!
  • Because we have Jerry Lewis? -
  • Because we fucking said so. Anyone who disagrees gets bombed.
  • beacuse of it's modesty
  • I am American and proud but it is NOT the greatest country. These comments are why we are hated apon so please, don't ask them, again but to answer NO it is not.Now...first off,to talk to some,we are not all racist! I have many friends of differant culture's and I'm african american! We are also not all greedy. The economic crisis has effected us and to some who think were 'rich, lazy pigs' should know that many of us have two or more jobs!We are not great but please don't let the others, like this dude/chick who wrote this question effect you.I love learning about other countries like Japan or Germany and I'm learning spanish.I am American but not what your sterotype of it is.Truthfully, going to a differant country would be nice and Lol,it is funny to call english a funny languege.I do not talk about the Spanish or any other languege's so for all of you who think were all jerks, get your facts straight and MEET a american then we can talk.
  • Whoever asked this question should travel around the world more often.. I am an Asian and have been lived overseas and many other countries for years. I wouldn't say American is the best country on the planet and nor I'd want to live there (people are slow, lazy, dumb and VERY arrogant... plus too many guns and enemies!!), there are many places in Europe or Asia are far more advanced than America. Rich?? ha, you mean debts up to eyeballs? spending future money that's what they were good at... see what happened now? ...gosh no wonder Amercians have SO MANY enemies...
  • We have an almost unlimited capacity for renewal, due to the iventiveness of the people.
  • It isen,t Canada is.
  • Just listen to Green Day...
  • Eh. I like America. No particular reason why, but I do. All I know is I'm tired of hearing the "America sucks" banter from every foreigner. If you don't like it, leave. If you're not there and you don't like it, count your blessings. Jesus, people, chill...
  • Silly, but you joined in anyway, didn't you? (wink).
  • i think you misunderstood my point..... i was actually trying to point out that everyone else in these answers have bagged out all sorts of other peoples..... and damase appears to have just added in homosexuals to the hate fest..... I wasn't actually saying anything for or against the gay culture at all.......
