My advice is to completely avoid this half of the world during any bike week, ESPECIALLY if yo have children. Both bike weeks in the spring were horrible. If I had kids I would have locked them in the house for the whole week. You see some disgusting people wearing and doing some disgusting things during bike week. Kids don't need to be around it and it's not safe to drive in at all. I don't have a choice as I live very near Ocean Blvd.

You should definately not go during bike week...I'm guessing the 2 days before might be ok and not too crowded. I just up and went on June 30th and took 2 of my kids for a couple of days, and that was the week of the 4th and it wasn't too bad, vacancies everywhere..I think that the 28th and 29th would be fine...I'd do it.

I don't know about Myrtle Beach, but Daytona, FL is ridiculous for a couple days before and after bike week. I would find a different beach or week.

What the hell are you thinking?! Stay home and take care of those kids. You may be stupid enough to put yourself at risk, but you don't have the right to risk those kids' safety.
Why is that I don't see a lot of African-Americans on the beach?

You're reading How bad is the traffic during bike week in October in Myrtle Beach, SC? Would it be OK to vacation there the two days prior to the start of bike week this year on Sept. 28th and 29th? We have two kids younger than 2yrs old with us.
