I try to help people because I like helping people, but do you ever feel like people are trying to help you only because it makes -them- feel good?

    Yes, I had a friend like that but it was fine with me because I knew it was the only thing that really kept her grounded and happy. She would go from one friend to another being everything they needed, a great help, a loving friend, her heart in the right place, but you felt it was something she just had to do for herself and we all loved her still and were willing to keep her happy that way. We never felt it was selfishness on her part, more like desperation for sanity.

    Yes I've had that happen before. Like when they will only help on their terms, and sometimes all of this sudden they take over.

    I've thought about that before... i think at some level we all crave that feelings of being courteous and helpful. Do you feel bad when you DONT help people? Probably... so thats why you end up doing it. Its human nature i think.
