If you're there to focus on the word, nothing else will matter. Stop passing judgement! You don't know what a person has experienced to be filled with so much praise. No test, no testimony.

Personally, it all feels like a great big load of Jesus-inspired B.S. Cannibalism and guilt don't get me that excited.

I've never been in a church that did that but I suppose if you grew up seeing it, it shouldn't be distracting.

I dislike all show-offs.

Anything taken to an extreme is bad, even religion.

I assume you're talking about a preacher that starts rolling around on the floor. Really I may have only seen it once but it was really interesting. I'm not the type to bounce around and fall over and stuff at church but I don't fully understand it so it's more of a novelty to me. The guy I did see would fall to his knees and lay flat on his face at times during his sermon. I can't remember any of the actual content of the sermon although I know I didn't disagree with any of it. At another church I visited pretty much all of the members at one point felt alot of remorse and they all lay flat on their faces on the floor. I didn't participate but I'm not very physically expressive in public. I think it really meant more to them though to outwardly show their feelings. What it comes down to is that God made each of us as a unique creation and he doesn't expect all of us to behave the same way. Some people may prefer a church that sits and listens quietly during a sermon while others need to respond.

I find these displays contrived and it makes me uncomfortable. I believe there is even a passage in the bible about not being overt in one's demonstration of faith because it's boastful. I could be wrong, but I remember something along those lines.

It doesn't bother me to see them in church, but it bothers the hell out of me to see the way they act as soon as services are over. Even adultry doesn't keep them from communion. But, God can see right through that crap.
