Just put the litter box on the toilet seat, with or without the lid down. After a week or so, start putting less and less litter in the box. When there is no more litter, take the box away. This works best with a small, round litter box, of course, so if you have a plastic round pan, use it
Hey there,
I've owned many cats in my life so far, and I still do. It really has plenty of good aspects to train your cat to use the potty. I have purchased an e-book that you can save and then burn onto a CD (so you never lose this valuable information) and it's filled with detailed step-by-step information. Even my most finicky cats have been responding quickly.
And it's cheap too, it costs 29.97$.
Here's where I got mine : http://tinyurl.com/34cd8r
I'm positive you won't regret it :) Let me know how it works out for you!
hey!my friend from Russia asked me to order this thing from www.citikitty.com.It cost only $29.she trained her cat within a month and now asked me to get few more for her friends.good luck!!!Galina
I have never done this but had an aunt that did this. The cat was rather obnoxious when he had to go and you were on the toilet and he had to wait! LOL
Here is a link that gives some very helpful steps to trying this type of training. I would think that the money you save on litter would make it worth the effort. Plus--you will not be scooping poop.

Good luck!
Mr. Jinx From Meet the Parents learned how to do that....
what about starting with a child potty seat... just to get him used to the idea and fill it with litter once he is used to using that (like the alwardness of balance and what not) then take our the litter and start using water and then maybe he'll catch on... Just watch all of your potted plants the little guy might try and pull a fast one and start watering your plants for you.
Most pet stores have training devices that you put on the toilet to train them. The owner still has to flush the turds though or you could just let them pile up in the guest bathroom.
Ohh brother, just let the kitty use a litter box.
My aunt had a cat that pee'd in the bathtub drain. It worked well, I guess, and the cat did it on her own. I wish I could get my cats to use the potty, but I dont think it will ever happen cause my boy cat thinks it is the never-ending-fresh-water-fountain. Good luck on getting your kitty toilet trained :-)
Mine will go to the bathtub in a emergency and he learned that on his own
You totally can toilet train your cat. I trained mine when she was 9. It's easiest to just get a cat toilet training kit like http://www.citikitty.com
It's a gradual transition process. I haven't seen any kits in pet stores, just online. Check out http://www.citikitty.com
