I'd start with how you fed the reel with new fishing line. Your spinner should take up the new fishing line in the same direction that it is coiled as it comes off the supply spool. If not, then the natural tendency of the fishing line to coil up in the same manner it was origionally coiled up in will cause it to become a tangled mess. Watch the initial coil of line when you first tie it onto your spinner. Does it tend to coil up in the same direction that the spinner wants to wind it? If not, this means you will have to remove it from the spinner and start over again, this time flip the supply spool over on its opposite end. It's easier to show than to explain in words.
