  • The process is the same for just about any car. Remove the oil fill cap under the hood before you start Get your car up on properly rated jack stands, or even car ramps. Locate the oil pan under car, and the oil drain plug on the pan. Place an oil collection bucket under where the oil will drain and remove the drain plug. After oil is drained, locate the oil filter. Place collection bucket under oil filter and unscrew and remove filter. reinstall oil drain plug being careful not to cross the threads. get your new oil filter and coat the rubber gasket with a little bit of new oil. Some people like to pre-fill the filter with new oil before installing. install new oil filter, making sure not to over tighten. Once you're sure the drain plug and oil filter are retightened, move to under the hood. Pour in the recommended oil and the recommended amount into your oil fill hole under the hood. Check new oil level with dipstick to ensure you have the right amount in. Check for leaks. Warm up engine, while checking oil level periodically and checking for leaks. Test drive. You're done.
