I just ordered a refurbished iPod Mini from Apple online. It was 150 dollars cheaper than a new iPod, but will it work as well?

It is my opinion that electronics that have broken down tend to continue to break down, but it may last you a very long time, good luck.

This can be a good way to buy many items. "Refurbished" or "reconditioned" are terms used for many reasons. Though I have never bought an iPod, I have purchased many items under these terms before. Any unit that has been sold once, and returned (not necessarily for a defect, even an unwanted gift), falls in this category. Once a unit is returned to the store, it then goes back to the manufacturer to be completely checked out, and found to be perfectly usable. The most important thing is to make sure the unit has some kind of warranty. The manufacturer isn't going to intentionally sell defective merchandise as this would be bad for their reputation. Again, "refurbished" doesn't mean defective, only that it was sold once before.
