I have a 7 year old RCA tv that all of the sudden stopped working - no picture, no sound except a very high pitched squeak when it is plugged in. You can't turn the unit on or off either. What should I do? Is this worth repairing?

You're reading I have a 2002 RCA 36 inch television. When it's plugged in it makes a very loud high pitch whine. Also as I plug the plug into the socket there is a distinct popping. Any idea's on the problem. Thanks
