Generally speaking (and assuming you're referring to a 3-day eviction notice), a landlord must give sufficient notice to a tenant in reference to vacating premises. That notice is usually the term of the rental period. For expample, a month-to-month tenant will be given 30 days' notice and a week-to-week tentant will be given 7 days. This allows the tenant to make other living arrangments. You can check with your local clerk of the courts for more specific information.
