2000 Jetta GLS. Replaced battery. The car started/ran fine for most of day. Now when put key in ignition the gauges light up but car does not start, just goes click, click, click and does not turn over. What could be wrong? Alte

give the battery a good charge start it up and disconnect the battery if it dies the alternator is at fault the battery starts the car thats all after it is running the alternator provides the engine power when the alternator isnt working the battery gets drained replace the alternator and do the same thing just tio besure but it should be fine
