  • I hardly ever have caffeine because my body is so sensitive to it (jittery). And so when I do have it, I find that my cramps at that time are much worse. MUCH much worse, only because I never have it so when I do have caffeine... my body knows it and cramps are definitely worse than usual. But every BODY is different so it could be different for each individual.... that's just my personal experience. :)
  • Everyone is different.
  • Caffeine, regardless of how good it may or may not be for cramps, is not good for the body as a whole. It can cause all kinds of problems.
  • Caffeine is a natural dehydrator, when you urinate a lot you lose most of the potassium that your body and of course your muscles need very much. Thus cramps get worse because they are caused by lack of potassium. When you have cramps one of the best things is to eat any of foods listed in the enclosed first link and drink none diet Coca Cola all rich in Potassium, be careful with Sodium which is also listed so you will know. All foods are per 100 grams (3.5oz) for comparison purposes and because its difficult to estimate an average serving for each potassium rich food. http://www.weightlossforall.com/potassium-rich-food.htm http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/full/309/6952/436 If you have been working out and got cramps try this. It is an inexpensive homemade rehydration drink. Measure all ingredients precisely. Small variations can make the drink less effective or even harmful. Mix: 1 quart (950 ml) water ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) baking soda ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) table salt 3 to 4 tablespoons (45 to 60 g) sugar If available, add ¼ teaspoon (1.25 g) salt substitute, such as "Lite Salt". Regards.
  • Not sure if this applies to everyone, but I used to date a girl who got the WORST cramps ever. She had her period like clockwork, but for some reason her cycle was like 2 and a half months instead of 28 days. Anyway, she always said coffee really helped.
  • I've never heard caffeine to be good or bad for cramps. I have heard that it helps headaches go away.
