My 1998 all wheel drive ford explorer is making terrible popping noises under the front end, and roars real loud after 50 m.p.h.. Any suggestions?

    C/V or U Joint(s) going out. Usually the "Short Shaft Side" fails first as it is subjected to more stress. When U replace them (do both) fill them & Wheel Bearings with Synthetic Grease & re-fill after every "Off Roading / Lake Trip" John
