Help answer this question below.

Who owns the Federal Reserve? If it is a private institution, like any other banking organization, then who owns it? For some reason, We the People believe it's a government entity, why is that?

    So... who are all the owners or the majority owners of the member banks? Are there any stocks of the Federal Reserve not owned by member banks?

    The Federal Reserve Bank is owned by member banks. However, the Board of Governors is appointed by the President of the United States. That makes it a quasi-government agency, privately owned, but publicly regulated.
