is this a standard or automatic? It may be a rev limiter.
This engine may have a governor on it thats pulling back fuel depending on where its set at..Big blocks that are equipted with this are usually lower geared vehicles, your symptoms could be normal, depending on year of vehicle, it may be the gov. control module that is defective if its in top gear and your not reaching at least hwy speeds..need more info

You're reading Have 454 chev, runs great, goes through the gears and then starts to pulse and won't gain speed. Have replaced all spark related parts and fuel pump and filter and checked timing. at wits end . help
