I got pulled over for it the other day. He gave me a seat belt citation instead, whew!
They are getting very strict with this law now. Automatic pull-over and $100 ticket, no exceptions. There are signs everywhere about how they are cracking down on this.
Yeah. Certain counties in Georgia are trying to pass laws that prohibit the use of cell phones while driving.
Yes we get penalty points for driving and talking on your cell phone....
my home, (probably the same as GiraffeyedDonor-ish) is CA.
CA is days away from enforcing a hands free law.
I was a little worried so I looked some of this up -- traffic here means you have a lot of time sitting on the freeway: radio sucks, I can only listen to my CDs so many times. A quick call doesn't seem to hurt anybody, especially when traffic isn't moving.
I think: blue tooth headsets and speaker phone are safe. The police can pull you over if your phone touches your ear though. No points on your record but you're out $20 the first time. $50 the second?
Funny thing is, texting is still just fine while you're driving.
I can't say "On my way, I'll be there in five, come down." But I can text that?
That makes sense.
Not yet...in 4 days it will be, though.
(July 1st)
No, it's not illegal here yet.
I would be interested in knowing how many people witness police officers using a celly while driving in states where it is illegal.
I see it A LOT here (still legal) but since it is such a bad habit, shouldn't they set an example?
PA just passed the law. No hand held devices, but the use of bluetooth earpiece is OK. So far I haven't read of strict enforcement.
No they're not.
Yes, they are. I have never heard of anyone being fined for it, though.
Yes.
