Seek it out.
-
I can't avoid it. And, I don't have to seek it out because it seeks me out. Responsibility is my middle name. That's why I like to have fun at AB!!
-
Seek it out ! At my age it's better if I get to learn more :) !
-
Since I own have the place I seek it out.
-
i cant avoid it because my dad is the owner so he is extra hard with me so the employees don't complain.
-
I seek it out, that is something that helps me to eat steak, instead of hamburgers!
-
I'll seek it out only if it is of benefit to me
-
Yes at all costs :)

I tend to seek it out. Extra responsibility = trust. When my boss or a higher-up "trusts" me enough with extra responsibilities then that is a major compliment to me. It means that person sees my abilities and trusts me enough to take on another task/project/responsibility. Therefore, I am flattered and will always rise to that occasion!! :)

At this point, I avoid it. I've spent too much time seeking it and have been burnt out too many times. I've spent the past couple of years trying to find a balance. I used to be the person that would sign up for anything. Take on everything. Give it my all. It's taken it's taken it's toll mentally and physically. I can't work 24-48 hours a day without sleep anymore. I've literally given blood, sweat and tears for companies just to get laid off so some shareholders could make a few extra dollars. Sorry if I come off as cynical, but "F" them. I've given my all to the corporate world, and I am done. It's time for me to be able to function as a human and not a robot. I have to be able to breath, not have a heart attack, enjoy the world for what it is. I've given more than my share to my government, country, and companies I've worked for. I have a very comfy home in a great city, a loving wife, some great pets. But I also have bad knees, arthritis, health issues, and am mentally burnt out. It's time for me to focus more on me than on making an extra 2 cents per share for some dumb ass that could lay me off because they want to make 3 cents per share.

I seek it out. I'm an over achiever :)
-
I go in every morning, do the job I was hired to do -- no more, no less -- then go home. Come tomorrow, will repeat.
-
i tend to do the majority of the work for that shift, and i always pick up the hours nobody wants... i pull in the dough ;-)
-
No. I feel happy to takeup extra responsibility if it comes to me. But I don't seek for one.
-
You are hired to do a specific job. Depending upon your abilities, work ethic and work method, and the intelligence/astuteness of your supervisor, you may find more responsibility being given to you. In a way we each "create" our own jobs eventually..by simple doing things the way we always do..to the best of our abilities! :)
-
Neither. I stick to my duties and responsibilities.

I'm much more likely to seek out extra responsibility than avoid it, but it's not a common occurrence. For the most part, I do what is needed of me to the best of my ability, and that's fine with me.
