  • If you like that stuff, it is pretty much the definitive game. My level 14 elf could pwn you. (No, I don't actually play)
  • If you're into that kind of thing. I tried it and hated it because you can't listen to music while you do it. (Ai least I can't.)
  • Maybe, I have never played...probably never will. I am glad you enjoy it though...
  • My level 64 half-celestial could kick anyones booty, lol. Yes, I really have that character, but it's been a while since Ive campaigned with him, lol. I'm DMing now, so mostly I have him as an NPC king character. I may be a bit cruel though, in that I don't tell people he's that high of a level, lol. So far, no one has been foolish enough to try to kill him.
  • It did when I was in junior high, that's fer sure;)
  • I played it in high school, that was over 10 years ago. It rocked when I played it. But now, with Massive Multi-player online games and even single player games you can get into the game so much quicker and it's much more visual.
  • Nine out of ten nerds agree that it is the best game ever. I tried to play it a few times with some nerds after school but they always killed me so I got frustrated and quit playing. I was on the chess team so I guess I was a semi-nerd in school.
  • It WAS, back in the 70s ... now, not so much.
  • No. Shadowrun helps magic-using Elves reach their potential FAR better and the dragons are more bad-ass while still being believable, at least as believable as anything is in an RPG. AD&D gives you dragon's stats; SR4 gives you their names, personalities, listing of corporate assets... GURPS has far more customizability and better mechanics. Both have point-based character creation and no classes or levels allowing characters to slowly evolve into whatever direction the player wishes without the artificial restrictions or jerky steps that AD&D has.
  • It sure liked great fun on Freaks and Geeks when Sam Bill and that gang played. I've never played myself.
  • I loved First Edition AD&D, and as a purist, I stick with it. Changes that occurred in subsequent revisions were mostly in response to the charges by religious conservatives that the game promoted devil worship, witchcraft, and the like. The fact that many of the elements taken out of 1st Edition AD&D were added back into 3rd Edition is proof enough that it wasn't broken - why fix it. I have almost all of the original manuals, and multiple copies of certain ones. I don't play anymore, but I do get a nostalgic warmth in flipping through those old books. They were so good in my development of imagination... AD&D kept me involved and playing with friends, and kept us out of real trouble.
  • I love D&D for what it is. I've had so much fun with it over the years. :) My tastes run more to Harn, Tekumel, Warhammer FRPG and whatnot, but there's something about the old Red Books that I love. I tried getting into Shadowrun, but I just don't dig it. To bad, the mechanics are great. I also play a lot of indie games like Burning Wheel and The Riddle of Steel.
  • I love it... but I only got to play for about a year :(
  • I loved D&D but, there is no one here that plays anymore, and I haven't played in years.
  • eh no, it dont. never done any dungeon to "for those about to rock", sorry.
  • Yes it rocks. Depends how and who you play it with though..
  • It, as well as other table-top RPGs, are THE ONLY games that let you do anything. And I do mean anything.
  • I played it in junior high.
  • Im still trying to rally a group in my town to play, Im fairly good with bards but have never had a cleric die I always retire them.
  • I don't know if it rocks, but it definitely does something. Oh look, another rule book...
  • There are 2 types of people in this world: 1.People who love D&D 2.People who have never played D&D
